Switched the site from Ametrine to Duckquill. Cleaner, mostly the same, and i don’t have to fight it anymore.

The old theme was fine - this one just gets out of the way.

So, I finally got myself a mechanical keyboard! It’s the URX CORE 65, with pre-lubed URX Ice switches, and man, this thing is just perfect in every freaking thing! I’ve been wanting to get my hands on a mechanical keyboard, and now that I finally have one, I can confidently say that I’m loving this thing.

Anyways, enough yapping, I’ve got code to write…

Presented ARK-II today at the Sahodaya AI & Robotics competition at Venkateshwara Public School, Peth.

Didn’t get anything.

Still, I learned a lot from being there. Software-only projects aren’t really enough if you’re doing robotics/AI stuff like this. I need to learn hardware properly and start building things that combine both.

Also realised that having the most technical knowledge in the room doesn’t mean I know enough. There is still a shitload of stuff I need to learn.

And yeah, I definitely need a better machine. Even while building ARK-II i realised that my laptop was not capable of doing a bunch of other things that could be easily implemented with a powerful laptop.

ARK-II is done.

At least done enough to take it to the competition tomorrow.

It’s kinda crazy to think that I got told about this six days ago and now I’m sitting here with an entire project ready to present.

Let’s see how this goes.

Spent most of today testing ARK-II and finding things that I didn’t notice while building it.

This is the annoying part of making software. Everything works until you actually start trying to use it.

Fixed a bunch of things and changed a few parts that just didn’t feel right.

I added a web UI today.

Wasn’t originally planning to do it, but the TUI alone didn’t feel right for presenting the project. Ended up spending way more time on the interface than I expected.

Classic.

ARK-II is taking shape now. Had to rewrite and move around a bunch of stuff from the old ARK instead of just slapping new features on top of it.

I think this is the point where it stopped being “the old ARK but better” and actually became ARK-II.

Started working on ARK-II today. I already had a pretty decent version of ARK with much better NLP, Groq API and a TUI, so I wasn’t really starting from scratch.

Still had to change a lot of things.

Six days. Fuck it, let’s do it.

Got called to the principal’s office today. Apparently there’s an AI & Robotics competition on 26th and they want me to participate.

I said yes. I already had ARK, so I guess I have something to work with.

Well, that was a longer break than expected. I haven’t written something in over two months, but the site hasn’t exactly been sitting still. Apparently owning a personal site doesn’t automatically mean updating it…

yeah, so… i haven’t posted anything here since june 26. not cus i’ve been doing nothing though. Quite the opposite actually. i’ve been messing around with way too many things, as usual.

I tried omarchy for a bit(ofcourse did a dual boot, i cant live without arch + hyprland). Pretty cool, ngl, but arch is just better. sorry, i mean not sorry.

Then there was rust idk why i started learing rust lmao. i think i just wanted to look into things apart form python and try something completely different. And speaking of python… I broke python. which is honestly impressive considering python had done absolutely nothing wrong.

Then came KDE incident. i thought, “hmm, let’s try KDE Plasma.” idk why! i had tried it earlier 🙃 so i installed it. then i disabled Hyprland. then i rebooted like a chad and found myself with no DE or WM. Brilliant. eventually i got everything back, but yeah… turns out i can’t live without Arch + Hyprland tbh, this is probably why i haven’t been posting much. i’m constantly tinkering with something. dotfiles, configs, terminal… something broke?, something works perfectly? better change it anyway.

• i don’t think i’m ever going to reach a point where i’m “done” with my setup and honestly? i don’t want to.

IF it works, leave it alone, IF you are me, touch it anyway.

Finally uploaded my dotfiles to GitHub.

Everything is now properly organized with stow. No more symlink chaos!

Shifted my site from arkovyx.netlify.app to arkovyx.github.io.

Netlify had some token limit issues which I didn’t want to deal with. GitHub Pages gives me way better management of the site and is overall the best way to host without owning your own server.

No more build limits. No more token nonsense. Just push and deploy.

Plus, everything is in one place now — code, hosting, and deployment. Clean and simple.
